What the mark is
The mark is a note that the action happened. It is not a score, a streak, or a journal. In Daily Habit Loop it is the last step of Cue → Action → Mark: when the cue happens, you do the small action, then you mark the day. Without the mark, the loop stays open.
Sygnał
The reminder that starts the loop. Prefer an event you already do.
Działanie
The habit itself. Keep it small enough for today.
Znak
Note that it happened. That closes the day.
Keep the mark simple
A useful mark is one tap or one checkbox — not an essay. You already wrote what the mark means when you set the loop (“close the notebook”, “tick the box”). Each day you only confirm that it happened. If marking takes longer than the action, the mark is too heavy.
- After three sentences — close the notebook. That is the mark.
- After a glass of water — one tap on today. Not a hydration log.
- After one stretch — tick the day. Not a workout diary.
- After one page — mark it done. Not a reading journal.
Gaps are not verdicts
Missed days show as empty circles in the last-seven-days view. That is a pattern, not a verdict. A streak that breaks often becomes a reason to quit. A seven-day view lets you see what happened without turning a gap into guilt. Mark tomorrow the same way you would have marked today.
What to avoid
Avoid turning the mark into a second habit: long notes, photos, scores, or a streak you must not break. Avoid skipping the mark because the action felt too small. The mark is how the day closes. One loop is enough: one cue, one small action, one mark.
How it fits Daily Habit Loop
You write the cue, the action, and the mark once. Each day, when the cue happens, you do the small action and mark the day with one tap. The tracker shows the last seven days so a gap is visible without becoming a score. Missed days are gaps, not verdicts — keep the same mark tomorrow.
This page is practical advice about using Daily Habit Loop. It does not claim that marking is scientifically proven better than streaks, and it does not invent users or results. Free, no account, nothing to install.
Use this shape: one cue, one action, one mark. Keep it small enough for today.
