Cos'è un segnale di abitudine?

In Daily Habit Loop the cue is the first step: Cue → Action → Mark. Here is how to pick a cue that actually starts the loop — not a vague time on the clock.

What a cue is

A cue is the moment that starts your habit loop. It is not a goal and not a streak. It is a clear signal: when this happens, do the action, then mark the day. Daily Habit Loop is built around that three-step shape — Cue → Action → Mark — so the cue has to be something you can notice without hunting for a reminder.

Segnale

The reminder that starts the loop. Prefer an event you already do.

Azione

The habit itself. Keep it small enough for today.

Segno

Note that it happened. That closes the day.

Attach the cue to something you already do

The cues that fire are usually already in your day. Hang the new habit on a stable event: when the kettle clicks, after morning tea, after you sit down at your desk, after you wash your face. An event carries its own reminder. A clock time (“at 7:30”) often fails when the day runs late, because nothing in the room is telling you it is time.

How to pick one that actually fires

Say the cue as a short sentence: after X, I do Y. X should be specific, frequent, and hard to miss. If X is “sometime in the evening” or “when I feel motivated”, it will not fire. Prefer moments that already happen most days, even when you are tired.

What to avoid

Avoid vague clock times, rare events, and cues that depend on mood. Avoid stacking five new habits onto one cue on day one. One loop is enough: one cue, one action, one mark. You can change the loop later; you do not need a longer list first.

How it fits Daily Habit Loop

You write the cue, the action, and the mark once. Each day, when the cue happens, you do the action and mark the day. The tracker shows the last seven days so a gap is visible without becoming a score. Missed days are gaps, not verdicts — use the same cue tomorrow.

This page is practical advice about using Daily Habit Loop. It does not claim that any cue method is scientifically proven better than another, and it does not invent users or results. Free, no account, nothing to install.

Use this shape: one cue, one action, one mark. Keep it small enough for today.
